Well, Hello there, Friends.
It has been almost four years since I stopped by to write to you. I’m sorry.
In my last post, I promised to keep in touch. I didn’t. I lied and I am sorry.
So I refuse to mislead you again. I cannot promise that I will do better, will produce more content or write more often. Nor will I promise to step up to encourage, teach or console you (or me). I will simply say, “I have missed the sharing, the conversations, the ‘lightbulbs’ that go off when I write…I miss you! I will try to rebuild the habit of writing back into my life. I WILL try!”
In the past four years, I have been blessed with a fifth grandbaby (who has already turned 2 years old), my son has received a promotion and is doing well in his chosen profession and my daughter and her family just moved closer to me so that my drive to see them or help them out is only 20 minutes instead of three times that! Yay!
Other than those important events, my life is pretty quiet. Busy but quiet. I still quilt but usually only for new babies or if a family member wants a new blanket. I have started to crochet, learn new stitches and have completed a few projects including blankets and baskets. My next project will be to crochet a sweater for my eldest granddaughter. My youngest granddaughter, age 7, just asked for another blanket. When I asked her what kind of stitch she wanted, she replied, “Surprise me!” So, I will. 😀
I still can some foods, raise chickens and rabbits and recently purchased a new puppy.
Fitzgerald, Fitz for short, is a long haired German Shepherd and is a bit over 28 weeks old. He is such a joy. Don’t get me wrong, he is also a toot (think sharp teeth on fingers and toes, stolen food from the countertops and chewing on furniture and baseboards) but I think God must have braided tea lights or sprinkled glitter into his fur just for me because when he prances through the house, runs after Ella in the yard or runs up to sit looking up at me with a goofy smile the world seems that much brighter and my heart lightens.
I am going to try hard to rebuild the habit of writing each day. Although I had stopped writing on this blog I had continued in a journal. Even that stopped around October of last year. I think writing does me good so I will again make the effort.
I hope you have a Marvelous Monday and that your week is filled with love and laughter. Remember to find one thing for which you’re grateful each day and try to make someone smile before your day is done!
I love you! Take care of yourself!
